"It's a solo project," Kasprzyk tells Billboard. "I've just been creating a lot, and this stuff I was writing and recording didn't sound like (Redlight King), and that's what led to M. Rivers."
The songs from her new EP bear the mark of maturity earned by navigating the minefield of young adult life showcased by tracks that are straightforward and brutally honest, lyrically-speaking.
The song is everything you could ever want in a summer-vibe anthem, and just listening to the tune will make you want to cruise along the coast, with sunglasses on and the windows down.
Her pop music, which she dubs “babe rock” and models after bold babes such as Karen O and Amy Winehouse,” is equal parts agile vocals, caffeinated production and stark honesty.
"M. Rivers is more than just a catchphrase. His song has raw power, and the backstory of his tattoos are just as powerful. I caught up with the musician and discussed his song, his work, and his ink. Read on, peops."

This week, we chatted with M. Rivers (who you probably know for his rockin' tunes with Redlight King). He's just released his FIRST solo record, Champion, which features some energetic tunes. Check out our lil' interview below, and listen to the album on Spotify!
M. Rivers is an LA-based artist and performer. M. Rivers' influences come from the late 60's psychedelia, 70's rock n' roll, and classic soul music. His newest album entitled Champion is currently rising in popularity on Canadian radio.
You've probably jammed out to Redlight King's alt-rock anthems once or twice. The king himself, Mark Kasprzyk, has since changed musical tracks. Setting aside the radio-friendly rap rock, he now releases an eclectic blend of psychedelic rock 'n roll under the moniker M. Rivers.
